Harmful effects of abiotic factors are most frequently manifested in wind and snow broken trees or caused by hail and ice in flooded forest areas. Occasionally, wind gusts cause a considerable damages to forests, which can seriously affect ongoing production plans. Tree breakages under snow are found less frequently, thus rarely affecting timber production.
Hail damages are usually found in nurseries and young forest crops and mainly within smaller restricted areas.
Ice can cause considerable damages to young forest crops during winter seasons, due to movement of ice mass formed on the water surface in flooded forest areas.
Aside from anti-hail protection and restrictive forest-breeding measures, it is not possible to undertake more effective protective measures in the abovementioned cases.
